What is The Difference Between Kibble and Dog Food?

Many people asked what is the difference between kibble and dog food. Basically, kibble is also dog food.  Kibble is generally made with grains, protein sources, starches, and vegetables & fruits. Kibble is not so good from dog food. In many ways, canned dog food can be superior to kibble. Dog food typically contains more meat protein than the dry counterparts. And it is made with fewer carbohydrates, too. Plus, due to the air-tight packaging, canned dog foods contain no synthetic preservatives.

Why Dry Kibble Is Bad For Dogs

Dry kibble is very bad for your dogs. I can tell you from my experience. I had a dog. This time I don’t know what is better for my dog. So, without any research I feed my dog dry kibble. After a month my dog died. We lost our dog.

I began to research what is the cause of death.  As I began to research what is available I learned that the dry food used in the past was really bad for him and contained all kinds of harmful ingredients. I also discovered that there was a lack of real nutrition from the way the food is processed.

Issues With Dry Kibble

Kibble is essentially fast food for your pets. Here are some of the main problems with dry kibble:

Feed Grade Ingredients

Pet feeds that are allowed to contain diseased animal material and meat ingredients sourced from non-slaughtered animals with – no disclosure requirement.

I found that the FDA says, “Processed pet food, including pet food consisting of material from diseased animals or animals which have died otherwise than by slaughter, goes through high heat processing and which is designed to kill harmful bacteria…”

Consuming these highly processed ingredients creates other issues.

Increased Bacteria Risk

Because kibble is a dry food, there’s a high risk for bacteria and mycotoxins to be present. Storage mites can multiply rapidly in dry food. Pets can develop a hypersensitivity to storage mites, as a result your pet’s will be affected by itchy inflamed skin, hair loss and ear infections.

Added Colors and Chemicals

There are many food dyes which are referred to by the Center for Science in the Public Interest as the “Rainbow of Risks”. This food dyes have been banned because of their negative effects on laboratory animals. This report finds that several of the nine approved food dyes could be causing serious health issues, including cancer and also it can cause hypersensitivity reactions.

High-Starch Carbohydrate Content

There is high starch carbohydrate content in kibble. Majority of kibble is made by grains and other high-starch carbohydrates like high-glycemic, genetically engineered corn, wheat, rice or potato etc.  Even grain-free kibble also contains high-levels of starchy carbs including legumes, peas.

Low Moisture

Because kibble is a low-moisture product it puts a dog in a constant state of dehydration.  When a dog gets dehydrated, they feel several harmful symptoms:

  • Can reduce energy levels.
  • Panting
  • Sunken, dry-looking eyes
  • Dry nose and gums
  • Loss of skin elasticity

Also goes rancid quickly, highly processed ingredients caused by kibble.
